Zeke Cernea with paul wood
Zeke started climbing the mountain as a singer/songwriter from the midwest and continues to hike in whatever direction the wind blows. In 2013 he formed the band Zeke Cernea and the UnXpected and put out a self titled release. That release led to an opening spot for Tracy Lawrence during his 2013 summer tour. Zeke's single See Ya Later went on to make the Radio Airplay top ten songs list for week four of 2015. In 2016 Zeke formed the group Zeke Cernea with Paul Wood and has ventured back to his acoustic roots. With his custom Martin 000-18 and a case full of harmonicas he provides a throwback to acoustic artistry that will send you on an emotional adventure to a different place and time.
As a self taught percussionist, Paul has been able to mold his craft in a unique fashion that knows no boundaries, limitations, or rules. His percussive skill and feel leaves listeners with the same fulfillment one might experience peering toward the horizon during a haunting sunset. His first documented work can be heard on a holiday record he played on with the Settlers. From there Paul found himself in the midst of a new adventure called Seven Days Fuller, a thriving project that fueled his love for collaboration and led to many years accompanying singer/songwriters. In 2016 he joined Zeke Cernea and found a sound, feel, and comfort they both new they could call home. Paul also has a couple side projects in Fielder and The Slopes.
